German for beginners - summer course in Germany

Learn German in Germany! Are you thinking about moving to Germany to build a new future and a new life? Or do you want to learn German for some other reason? Here comes the first step towards your goal!

German for beginners summer course

  • 12 June - 12 July 2019

  • Term of application: 15 April 2019!

Course description

During the summer, you will learn the bases of the German language in one of Germany’s biggest cities: Düsseldorf - the center of business, shopping and art! You study 3-4 hours (á 60 minutes) a day and then get some assignments to do at home. The emphasis is on communication and the practical application of what you learn. As a part of the course, we organize an activity in Düsseldorf and a couple of trips to some cities in the region (for example Bonn or Cologne).
German for beginners is a course that follows a pedagogy developed for the Swedish Folk Highschool (folkhögskola) – adult education centres – which puts the emphasis on the group dynamic, that is to talk, share, listen and learn from each other. In the course, we use the “reality” as a source for knowledge and work with a student-centred approach. There will be no final exams. To get a course certificate you need to have an attendance rate of 85 %. A large part of the course participants will be Swedish students who are reading a longer beginners course.

Living arrangements

Take a chance to dive into German culture and choose to stay in a German host family. Living with a German host family is a great opportunity to train German and experience the German culture. The host family serves breakfast and dinner every day (half board).
If you prefer to arrange your own stay, we will give you a list of links to get a furnished home.
